A few months after opening Maneki Permanent Jewelry & Gift Shop, owner AsiaKai Henderson announced the business is moving to Northwoods Mall.
The business launched in the Twin Towers Mall in early May. Henderson said the goal is to have a grand opening for the new space − located on the ground floor across from PINK − sometime in August. She is continuing to accept appointments for permanent jewelry during the transition.
Henderson said Northwoods Mall general manger Julie Revallo had reached out to her business about available spaces that work well for the shop.
“She’s a really big proponent of smaller businesses going into the mall,” Henderson said.

Henderson said the Northwoods Mall location is 10 times the size of the former location — 2,400 square feet compared to 235 square feet.
“It’s exciting. It’s challenging…” Henderson said. “It’s going to allow us the space to kind of give that experience that we were talking about where people can come in as a really large group and be comfortable.”
Along with the permanent jewelry side of the business, Henderson said the extra space will allow her to include more items in the gift shop. Overall, she said the Northwoods Mall space was the ideal fit for multiple reasons.

“We’re excited about the move and the expansion,” Henderson said. “We didn’t think it would come this early, but there are a lot of benefits to moving over to Northwoods Mall, including the security being one, the additional space and, of course, the foot traffic.”
